If one of your front wipers is streaking, chattering, or has literally started falling apart, the 2010 Lexus RX350 makes this a 3-minute, tool-free fix. There’s no reason to pay a dealership to install them. Buy the genuine Lexus OEM blades for around $15 each — versus the $20–$22 the dealer counter charges — and snap them on yourself. The OEM rubber is better quality and has a protective layer that resists sun drying, which is what kills most blades.

Here’s how to swap both front blades.

Removing the Old Blade

  1. Lift the wiper arm. Raise the arm off the windshield so the blade stands away from the glass.
  2. Twist to expose the clip. Twist the blade and you’ll reveal a small release clip — that clip is the key to the whole job.
  3. Release and slide off. Pull the clip, and the whole blade slides straight down and comes right off. That’s it — no tools, no fighting.

Tell-tale sign it’s overdue: in the video the old blades were visibly rusty and one had already broken off and fallen apart. If yours look like that, they’re well past replacement.

Installing the New Blade

  1. Open the new blade’s clip. The new OEM blades have a clip — pull it up to open it.
  2. Seat it on the arm. Lift the blade up onto the arm hook so it slides into place, then it snaps in.
  3. Close the clip. Push the clip back down until it snaps — now it’s locked and won’t come off.
  4. Lower the arm. Slide/set the wiper arm back down onto the windshield.

Do the Other Side

The second blade is identical: lift the arm, pull the blade down and off, then snap the new one on the same way. Notice how the new OEM blade nests into the arm and adds that protective layer the cheap blades lack.

That’s It

Both front blades in about three minutes, no tools, around $15 each for genuine Lexus quality. The OEM blade links — for both the 2010–2015 and the 2016–2018 RX — are in the parts box above. A good tip from the video: add wipers to your once-a-year maintenance list alongside the cabin and engine air filters so they all get done at the same time.

FAQ

Why buy Lexus OEM blades instead of cheaper aftermarket ones?

The OEM blades are noticeably higher quality — the rubber is better and there's a protective layer that helps resist the sun drying it out, which is the biggest killer of wiper blades. The aftermarket pair being replaced (Anco) had already gone rusty and one had literally fallen apart.

Do I need any tools to change the front wipers?

No. The whole job is done by hand. You lift the arm, twist the blade to reveal a clip, release the clip, slide the old blade off, and snap the new one on.

How do I get the old blade off?

Lift the wiper arm off the glass, then twist the blade until a small release clip is exposed. Pull that clip and the blade slides straight down and off — no tools, takes seconds.

Fixed it? There's a video for the next job too.
